Hilton Hotel, Mactan - President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo said the arrest of the remnants of the Magdalo rebel soldiers is a clear indication that the government is strong enough to overcome any threat to destabilize or topple it.
"I think, what I have to say is that the Philippine government is strong enough to overcome this. I mean, in fact we've done what should be done as indicated by the arrest (of the Magdalo soldiers), and we will continue to do what should be done," she said in a one-on-one interview by Leo Lastimosa of ABS-CBN 3 Friday night at Hilton Hotel in Mactan. President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is just lucky enough that the Magdalo rebel soldiers do not have a powerful leadership and logistics to finance the destabilization to overthrow the goverment. And neither have any support from the masses.
