New KBP Officers

Station managers from all member stations of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas (KBP) in Cebu have reelected Edward Duterte Abad for a second term as chairman with radio anchorman Leo Lastimosa as executive vice chairman.

The group also reelected Carlo Dugaduga of dyXR Aksyon Radyo as vice chairman for AM radio, Jerome Calatrava of dyBN Killer Bee as vice chairman for FM radio and Bong Aznar of RPN 9 as vice chairman for TV. Also elected were Manny Galicia of dyQC Home Radio as secretary; Debbie Ng Go, dyUR Ultimate Radio, treasurer; Marianne Hontiveros, dyBT Moster Radio, auditor; Rogelio Calope, dyLL Energy FM, PRO; and Eulogio Jimenez, IBC 13, and Allan Joseph Baliad, dyNU, directors.

The election came as the KBP national office released the results of the Oct. 15 KBP accreditation examination in Cebu. Of the 59 examinees, 43 passed with Jason Cinco of dyRF Radyo Familia and Maria Lourdes Mariano of dyLA topping the test at 94% each. Among those who passed were Rico Lucena and Neda Aviñante of ABS-CBN, Dr. Katherine Oyson, Ph.D. of dyAP Mom’s Radio and The Freeman, and PR/marketing consultant Cerwin Eviota, who co-anchors dyRF’s Radyo Kalinga as volunteer of Gawad Kalinga.
